We understand that starting therapy can feel overwhelming or uncertain. Below are answers to some of the most common questions we receive from individuals, parents, and caregivers.
What ages do you serve?
We provide therapy for infants/toddlers (peri-natal mental health), children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. Our specialties include play therapy for young children as well as trauma-informed care for teens and adults.
What is play therapy?
Play therapy is a developmentally appropriate approach that allows children to express emotions, process experiences, and build coping skills through play, art, and creative expression. It helps children communicate feelings when words are difficult.
How long does therapy last?
The length of therapy varies depending on each client's needs and goals. Some clients benefit from short-term support, while others engage in longer-term therapy for deeper healing.
What happens in the first session?
The first session in an opportunity to get to know you, understand your concerns, and create a plan together. For children, the session may involve play, observation, and caregiver consultation.
Do you accept insurance?
We accept select insurance plans and offer self-pay options. Our team can assist with verifying benefits and explaining fees before your first appointment.
How often are sessions scheduled?
Most clients attend weekly sessions, especially at the beginning of thearpy. Frequency may shift as progress is made.
Do you offer virtual sessions?
Yes, telehealth sessions may be available for adolescents and adults when appropriate. Play therapy for young children is typically most effective in person, but we do offer a virtual playroom for children 6+.
Is therapy confidential?
Yes. All therapy sessions are confidential in accordance with state and federal laws. Certain limitations apply such as safety concerns or mandated reporting requirements, which will be explained during intake.
Can parents be involved in their child's therapy?
Yes. Parent involvemnet is an important part of the therapeutic process. We offer caregiver sessions, education, and collaboration to support progress outside the therapy room.
What should my child bring to therapy?
We encourage children to bring a comfort item if needed. All therapeutic materials and toys are provided in-session.
How do I get started?
Simply contact us through via text, call or email. We will guide you through intake forms and schedule your first session.
Do you offer faith-based counseling?
Yes. We offer Christ-centered counseling for those who wish to integrate Chirstian faith into their therapeutic process.
What if I'm unsure therapy is right for me or my child?
